Yea! They Finally Came. Well, at least 2 did…

It’s amazing what can happen when you start getting — and using — right information!

I used what I learned in Credit Secrets Bible to contact and request my credit reports from the fine people at Annual Credit Report. And, no! I did NOT make the request online. Think about it: wouldn’t snail mail be worth the wait for you too if it meant safeguarding your identity?

Now, here I have two out of three: Equifax and TransUnion. Experian sent me a reply requesting more details about my previous address and how beautiful I look when I take a snapshot for my drivers license. So, here it is, the weekend after receiving all that. I’ll get my ID proof copies to Experian and start deciphering my other two credit reports. Oh, it’s just like being back in school! Hah! i’ts more like “Where’s Waldo” or “Where in the World is Carmen San Diego”.

Check it out. Are you hanging in there with me? As you can leave comments and questions at my other blog, GetCash411.com. As soon as I find out how to leave comments here on Tumblr I’ll set it up and then you’ll have two hot resource locations.

High Time I Get to Work on Raising My Credit Score, Eh?

Here it is, October 2, 2007. If I expect to have an enviable credit score of 750 or above by January 3, 2008, I better get to work. I realized that I could only get sketchy and even out dated information from the ebook package I suggested to you on my first post. It does have its merits though — it offers you the chance to get credit cards if you’ve got bad credit.

Thankfully, not too many of my readers took me up on that ebook, because I now know of an even better one. And this one, the Credit Secrets Bible, blows the first one out of the water.

In fact, I must admit I was just trying to save some money as I made my first report. I like to buy and try things out before posting a review and offering suggestions to help you decide whether or not something is worth trying for yourself. “Improve Your Credit Score in 24 Hours” is about $20 less than Credit Secrets Bible.

But apparently the authors of CSB have been keeping a keen eye on their competition, because, as I said before, it beats other “advise” that I’ve seen anywhere — online or in printed pamphlets. I’d bought CSB back in 1998 when I had a steady job and high hopes of improving my credit. One thing led to another and there went the steady job and my debt repayment plan with a “non-profit credit counseling” agency.

So, here it is, 2007, and I’m back at square one (as they say). After finding absolutely nothing new to help me tangibly improve my credit score in the first ebook (from my first post), I re-read the sales page for Credit Secrets Bible and decided the guarantee was sweet enough to make me at least give it another shot.

And guess what! I’ve been sleeping like a baby. For the first time in a long time I feel like I’ve got the tools I need to get my credit report back on track, despite the fact that my “personal economy” (i.e., my job situation) is about as shoddy as my credit report.

Anyway, if you find yourself in the same position as I’m in, at least go read the sales page to the Credit Secrets Bible. You’ll find it here.

As for paying off your own debts… have a look at the math lesson that Ma and Pa Kettle give the “young” financier. I’ve tried running those numbers, but some how, they just don’t seem to add up for me. You may just want to watch the video “for entertainment purposes only” ;^)

And now, a little bit About Me…What? You think that a credit miscreant like me would post her real name and photo?! Sorry, but I need some anonymity until I can clear things up and get back on my feet again. Until then, please accept that you’ll know me as Valery “Val” Mackie. Once this all blows over perhaps we’ll meet at a bar and have a chat.Meanwhile, check out my other site/blog GetCash411.com

The First $5 Investment Made Toward Getting Out of Debt

With so many hi-tech gadgets available, it’s a wonder anyone uses printed calendars anymore.

Or is it?

They’re so easy to use, extremely portable. Sure, sometimes you need a pen or pencil to make them totally effective, but that’s a minor inconvenience that I’m willing to deal with.

Here it is, mid-September! If I’m going to clear up my credit by January 1, 2008 I’m going to have to start keeping better account of when my bills come due. It’s frustrating to check my voice mail only to find that my auto insurance is past due. And no, I was not yet signed up for their electronic bill pay because they needed me to take the initiative and request it by phone.

You can’t even get out of making some sort of human contact when you’re trying to pay a bill these days! Some people like that type of attention. It’s a good chance to work on your “communication skills”. To me, talking to a live person is about as “convenient” as using a pen and paper calendar, and I just told you how I feel about that.
